The Hospitality Industry
Hospitality is one of the largest industries in the world, and it generates over $452 billion in annual revenues and employs more than 11 million people in the United States alone. According to some estimates, worldwide, it generates over $3 trillion in revenue and employs more than120 million people.
The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education divides the hospitality and tourism industry into five major service segments: food, lodging, recreation, travel, and convention/meeting. Upon graduation, exciting employment opportunities and career paths are available to hospitality and tourism graduates.
Job Placement
Our Students gain valuable experience and develop skills required for success in the hospitality industry and Buffalo State has an excellent job-placement rate for graduating seniors. Through their academic courses and internships, students are encouraged to select career paths based on individual skills and interests.
Career Assistance
The capstone course, HTR 485: Seminar in Hospitality, allows seniors to investigate contemporary issues relevant to the hospitality industry. Students research and present topics of their choice and participate in career-related activities.
