Allen Kantorowitz, '84, works as director of sales for the Greater Newark (New Jersey) Convention and Visitors Bureau. This year, that job comes with a perk—direct involvement with Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day.
In recent years, Media Day has become a popular preface to the big game. The event is a swirl of activity, with media from around the world interviewing members of the competing football teams on the arena floor, while thousands of fans sit in the stands soaking in the atmosphere.
This year’s Media Day takes place on Tuesday, January 28, at the Prudential Center in Newark. The game, pitting the Denver Broncos against the Seattle Seahawks, is set for Sunday, February 2, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Kantorowitz’s primary responsibility is to help fill the 25 hotels in town with group business for Media Day. Hospitality, of course, will be a key play at the big game and Kantorowitz is proud to be part of the action.
“On Media Day, I will be working with the hoteliers to make sure things go smoothly,” said Kantorowitz.
